Cryptocurrencies are becoming mainstream. Big banks are starting to buy bitcoin to provide crypto funds for their customers. The problem is that these funds are not a very diversified crypto portfolio. Bitcoin is king but i believe that holding only this cryptocurrency is an unnecessary risk.
A good crypto portfolio should have at least 10 coins (although mine has only 7) to be well rounded. I know that altcoins are even riskier than bitcoin but holding only bitcoin doesn’t seem sensible either.
That’s why i decided to share with you my ideas on crypto investing and talk about my own portfolio as an example.
Everyone as a different opinion and that’s a good thing. Forming your own opinion is healthy for the crypto universe so take my opinion with a grain of salt and always do your own research!
Bitcoin is king. It has a first mover advantage and despite being “old tech”, the first mover advantage makes it the most likely currency to be adopted by the masses. Critics say bitcoin can’t scale but keep in mind that the protocol can and will probably be altered in the future.
It’s also considered as digital gold and an hedge against inflation and tyranny.
I call Monero bitcoin 2.0. The reason is simple: it’s faster, has tiny fees and more importantly: monero is impossible to track, making it the currency for the dark web, criminals and folks like Kim Jong Un. I know this seems unethical but that’s how bitcoin started and there is nothing we can do about it. Crime will always exist and money is just a tool.
For me monero is the more likely “silver” to bitcoin’s “gold”.
Great tech that solves the hard forks problem. It’s well funded, has a great team working on it and great partnerships already. Great potential!
An hedge against bitcoin. I don’t like the bitcoin.com “problem” but i have to accept that it’s possible that “bcash” can grow a lot.
Much like Tezos, Zilliqa as a great team working on it and great partnerships already.
Icon is a tiny percentage of my portfolio. It’s a small coin but it’s support and partnerships in Korea give it a high probability of success.
Nano is a super fast and feeless technology. It’s also super cheap and has a huge potential for growth. What’s not to like about it?
The most important thing is that you buy and hold. When you trade you lower your returns and increase the profits of the exchanges! If you want’s the excitement of trading i suggest you do it on any of the sports betting exchanges out there. It’s easier, simpler and cheaper!

Remember to stay safe and hold your own coins. Exchanges are not safe!
