The delicate rescue of a pelican

This pelican would have died if these gentlemen wouldn’t intervene, because the bird had the beak closed by a fishing wire.

The intervention may appear cruel but it was the necessary – the man seems well versed in this kind of rescue – so that they could free the bird’s beak. The operation was very delicate, grabbing the pelican, immobilizing in a way that he wouldn’t hurt himself or others, being careful in cutting the wire not to harm the beak.

Putting the head inside the pelican’s beak is not a circus stunt, it was the verification of the beak inside, to make sure there were no internal injuries.
